I took this photo on the rims at sunset after class on Tuesday. I was trying to apply some of the things that we learned in class to this photo. The most prominent feature of the picture is probably the contrast between light and dark. I tried to line up the branches to lead into the sunset on the mountains. You cannot see the mountains as well as i would have liked, but I think the silhouette of the tree ended up pretty nice.

Although it is not the greatest of photos, I was able to capture a shot of this moose one evening by my house. They are pretty rare and can be dangerous to photograph, so I was lucky to get such an easy shot of the moose. I took the photo with my iPhone last summer near Battle Ridge in Wilsall, Montana.

Glacier National Park

Every year, my family and I take a trip to Glacier National Park. The sights around the park are incredible and provide many photograph opportunities. Below are a couple pictures I took on my iPhone during last year's trip. One is from the beach at Lake McDonald, and the other is a picture from the top of Going to the Sun Road. I look forward to applying the techniques I will learn in Nature Photography class when I visit Glacier National Park next summer.

Montana Rancher

This photo shows my brother-in-law, a cattle rancher in my hometown of Wilsall, Montana, taking a newborn calf to the heating shed on horseback in order to save the calf from the below 0 temperatures. The photo captures the spirit of the Montana Ranchers who work outside in any conditions to raise and protect their herds.
